The congregation of Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce the selection of Reverend Karl E. Schwarz as their new solo pastor. We are filled with gratitude and love for Pastor Karl for his leadership and pastoral support over the last 2 years in his role as our interim Pastor. We have been fortunate to experience his strong faith, spirit, teaching, preaching and compassion during this time of pandemic and its many challenges. Pastor Nominating Committee Report
Dear Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church Member,

After an extensive search and thoughtful discernment, it is with great joy that your PNC announces the Rev. Karl Schwarz as our nominee for Full Time Pastor and Head of Staff of Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church.

Beginning last fall, we studied 85 Personal Information Forms from pastors all over the country. We conducted 10 interviews. We have worked diligently every week for almost a year to discern who God has called to be our next Pastor. We can now report without reservation that your PNC, each individually, and as a group, have heard God calling Karl and our church into ministry together.

We are filled with gratitude and love for Pastor Karl for his leadership and pastoral support over the last 2 years in his role as our interim Pastor. We have been fortunate to experience his strong faith, spirit, teaching, preaching and compassion during this time. We are particularly appreciative of his ability to successfully guide us during the pandemic and its many challenges.

In addition, Karl has demonstrated his exceptional fit for us in leading us into the future by taking advantage of our strengths of being a warm and caring congregation, our incredible music program, our Outreach efforts to the community and our strong Bible study and Worship opportunities while also utilizing our Mission Study information in setting goals and action plans for BTPC for the future in welcoming all, loving all and serving all.

It was clear to all of us on the PNC that the Holy Spirit placed Karl at Bentwood Trail in a great time of need as our interim and provided the congregation an opportunity to see his passion and many strengths in leading us in serving God.

We thank you for your prayers, patience and trust in us during our PNC journey as we now wholeheartedly recommend him as our next Senior Pastor.

We are excited for you to approve the call of Rev. Karl Schwarz after worship on
Sunday, June 13, 2021. We invite you to visit our website at bentwoodtrail.org for more information about Rev. Karl including his Statement of Faith and a very interesting biography on Karl and his family.

In Christ,

NEW OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY - Family Gateway's Christmas Store
On Sunday, December 19th, BTPC will host Family Gateway’s Christmas Store.
The store will be set up in Prichard Hall for the families that Family Gateway serves at the nearby shelter.  Each family will be able to come shop for their children and then wrap each of the gifts before leaving our campus.  Volunteers will be needed in different capacities for this event.  We are very excited about this partnership and hope that many of you will choose to help.  Please be on the lookout for more information, which will soon be distributed through your deacons.

Here is the link to the online signup for the Family Gateway Holiday Store to be held at BTPC, Sunday, December 19th.
Each activity is explained, and many hands are needed to share in the good work being done. Toys donated by the community will be set up in a store format for the adults in Family Gateway's program to shop for their children completely free of charge.
Many volunteers are needed so please invite your family, friends, group, or corporation to help make the holiday store a well-staffed event. There are a variety of fun and festive roles available.

Make sure that you are signing up for the BTPC store since both signups are on the same link.

For volunteers 13 and up, please reserve a slot on the sign up. Volunteers 12 and under will be paired with their adult supervisor. Please only reserve slots for volunteers who are confirmed to participate.
If something comes up and you are no longer able to volunteer, please remove yourself from the sign up as soon as possible. Thank you for helping make this holiday season bright for families with children experiencing homelessness!
