Pastor Nominating Committee Report
Dear Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church Member,

After an extensive search and thoughtful discernment, it is with great joy that your PNC announces the Rev. Karl Schwarz as our nominee for Full Time Pastor and Head of Staff of Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church.

Beginning last fall, we studied 85 Personal Information Forms from pastors all over the country. We conducted 10 interviews. We have worked diligently every week for almost a year to discern who God has called to be our next Pastor. We can now report without reservation that your PNC, each individually, and as a group, have heard God calling Karl and our church into ministry together.

We are filled with gratitude and love for Pastor Karl for his leadership and pastoral support over the last 2 years in his role as our interim Pastor. We have been fortunate to experience his strong faith, spirit, teaching, preaching and compassion during this time. We are particularly appreciative of his ability to successfully guide us during the pandemic and its many challenges.

In addition, Karl has demonstrated his exceptional fit for us in leading us into the future by taking advantage of our strengths of being a warm and caring congregation, our incredible music program, our Outreach efforts to the community and our strong Bible study and Worship opportunities while also utilizing our Mission Study information in setting goals and action plans for BTPC for the future in welcoming all, loving all and serving all.

It was clear to all of us on the PNC that the Holy Spirit placed Karl at Bentwood Trail in a great time of need as our interim and provided the congregation an opportunity to see his passion and many strengths in leading us in serving God.

We thank you for your prayers, patience and trust in us during our PNC journey as we now wholeheartedly recommend him as our next Senior Pastor.

We are excited for you to approve the call of Rev. Karl Schwarz after worship on
Sunday, June 13, 2021. We invite you to visit our website at bentwoodtrail.org for more information about Rev. Karl including his Statement of Faith and a very interesting biography on Karl and his family.

In Christ,
