Bentwood Trail Mission Team traveled to Arkansas to participate in Ferncliff's Mission and Outreach program.  Ferncliff’s mission and outreach program gives teams a variety of outreach experiences while based at 1200 acre camp known for its commitment to mission, sustainability and creative programming. Ferncliff is home to the 10,000 sq. ft. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Center and thePC(USA) National Volunteer Call Center.

BTPC Mission Team arrived on Sunday and settle in for a week of service, fun, fellowship!  Service opportunities include:

Serve at the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Center Warehouse.  This work involves inspecting and re-boxing disaster kits so they can be shipped to communities recovering from disasters.

Serve at the Jackson House in Hot Springs, an interfaith community crisis center which provides short-term emergency assistance for the basic needs - food, clothing and shelter, and medicine. As volunteers, we will work in the food pantry, thrift store, or the sack lunch program.

Serve at the Arkansas Foodbank Network, a large, hunger relief warehouse that acquires and distributes, through local and national partnerships, large quantities of food and other resources to hungry people. Team will help sort, box and stack food to get it ready for delivery to Arkansas food pantries, shelters, school feeding programs and soup kitchens.

Serve at  Little Rock Compassion Center, an inner-city mission focused on a ministry of hope to the homeless, transient, displaced and disadvantaged people in the Little Rock area. Center provides a clear message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as help for physical needs, while helping people transition into local churches. Volunteers help serve meals, mentor through testimony and prayer, assist in the Thrift Store.

The BTPC Mission Team to sponsor and participate in a Stop Hunger Now meal packaging service project at Ferncliff.  Mission Team will  package  2000 meals to be used in international school feeding programs. Every year, Stop Hunger Now, with the help of volunteers, provide millions of nutritious meals and other life-saving aid to children and families all over the world.
